Serpent was installed in 1969 as AstroWorld's first roller coaster. It is a Junior coaster custom built by Arrow Dynamics. It is difficult to see this ride from anywhere else in the park and it is also difficult to see the rest of the park from this ride. It seems to be standard operating procedure for this ride to do 2 laps instead of one per train load.
