SWAT is the newest flat ride at AstroWorld. It opened in 2003 to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of AstroWorld. It is a Sky Swatter built buy S&S Power of Utah. It is the prototype, so it has had its share of problems and is a very intimidating ride. Many people won't ride it when they first see it because the sight of is is a bit intimidating. It stands 65 feet tall when not operating and 105 feet when in rotation. It rotates at about 30 mph and does anywhere from 2 to 4 revolutions in each direction.
