The Antique Taxis opened with the park in 1968 as Le Taxi. At that time, they were located in the Alpine Village section of the park and went through the former Alpine Sleigh Ride. In 1984, they were moved to the USA section and renamed Antique Taxis. In 1995, the double tracks were combined into one track. In 1999, the entrance was moved to the Coney Island section, just in front of Texas Cyclone's entrance.
